Most companies selling coops will use an "industry standard" of 2 square feet per bird on their housing recommendation. The spacing recommendations we give are based on about 4 s.f. per bird of coop space plus 8 s.f. per bird for run space, giving a total of about 12 s.f. per bird. (based on standard breed size), which is what we personally adhere to with our own chickens. |

Delivery Options:
Our delivery rate is $2.75/mi from Thorndike, Maine with a $150 minimum. This rate includes unloading and placement as long as the site is accessible for a full size pickup truck with 20’ trailer (50’ total length), with a height clearance of 11'. Otherwise, rate includes unloading only. *Also See Site Preparation info below
Purchases can also be picked up direct from our shop in Thorndike by appointment.
*Site Preparation:
Your site must be prepared ahead of time: the area should be clear of debris (rocks, roots, plants, etc) and the site should be relatively flat and level. We will put blocks and shims under the rim to stabilize the structure when we place it. You will need to go around and fill in low spots to secure the perimeter, or install our optional perimeter security kit.
